Information For Future Volunteers
Who Can Become a Volunteer
Men and women aged 17+; education is not important; healthy; talent for the work with children; no record in the Register of Crimminal Records; students – the confirmation of studies; interview with our psychologist in the area of the particular children's home. The
volunteer's work depends on the place and year where and when is carried
out.
English speaking volunteers can also participate in the project. However, they are obliged to undergo an interview and training similarly as the Czech volunteers. It is essential that they are accompanied by someone who speaks Czech. The staff of children's homes, the nurses and educationists, are not fluent in English. The volunteers shall ensure that the staff understand them. Interviews with psychologist are in Czech as well. Thank you for understanding. The questionnaire needs to be filled in Czech.
For the time being we do not plan to work in other children's homes; the structure of the homes changes approx. every year. Please keep an eye on our web pages. The children's homes which joined the project and no longer participate in it have enough volunteers. We don't cooperate with children's homes in Prague. Thank you for understanding.
Volunteers who are interested in adoption or foster care can be admitted to
the project but it is never possible with the prospect of choosing a particular
child. If you are interested in this form of care you can get more information
at www.adopce.com .
And how can YOU help?
For example:
- You can become a volunteer visiting abandoned children
- You can give the money you would pay on taxes to a charity rather to the tax authority.
- You can place a banner on your website.
- You can ask your friend, who is a celebrity, to become a patron of the beneficial activities of our civic association.
- If you work in a company, you can give some of your products either to abandoned children or to beneficial activities as a donation.
- You can use a part of your abilities and skills to help our association (for example legal services, fundraising, administration etc.)
- You can give a financial donation to some of our projects.
Etc. There are many other possibilities. We are sure you can find many other ideas how to help with our projects. Do not hesitate to contact us at provazek@provazek.org
