Healing Arms Project outside children’s homes 2008
Twelve children aged 3 to 4 from the children’s home in Kamenice nad Lipou came to the Orlicke Hory mountains not only to see a beautiful countryside but also to the Healing Arms of our volunteers in July 2008. We prepared a varied program for them, in which they visited different continents with music by our music therapist Bohdana Theodora Hybsova.
The children also spent time with the horse Laik that was carrying them and that they could talk to. We also went for a trip and visited Indians in a tee-pee. They taught the children to make pancakes on a stone. The children also fed semi-wild goats and they could touch them and stroke them. There was a creative program – the children worked with wool and blowing tippens in their free time.
Thanks to our project Little Clown, we turned the children to supermen, spidermen and other heroes; then we played game in which they could experience the joy of getting presents and giving presents to others. We also made a bonfire and there was a puppet play for the children in the last evening.
The children had an individual care of our volunteers throughout their stay, even at night. Each volunteer took care of three children.
